Cubox plays with click/pop sound 投稿者:wongcwwilson 投稿日:2013/03/24(Sun) 13:44 No.2465
Hello, I am a cubox user and install the cubox-audio "2012-12-22" image. While I play the music file which is 24/192, the song comes with repeated click/pop sound. However, it does not happen if the file is 16/44.1. I also change to cubox-audio "2013-03-13" image but still have click/pop sound.
For your information, I add a DDC in between the cubox and DAC becasue my DAC does not have USB interface. And the DDC used XMOS chip.
I wonder if it is because of the USB driver. May I know if I need to install a USB driver in cubox? If not, may I have your advice the cause of this problem and any recommended solution?
Thanks for your help, Wilson

Hi Wilson,
I guess the HDMI port in your DAC is an implementation of I2S LVDS on HDMI. In other words, it is not plain I2S but a differential mode of I2S which allows longer transmission distance.
While the HDMI port of Cubox is just a display port in circuit design point of view. I afraid it can't be changed to I2S LVDS simply by modifying the software part.
Alternatively, it is suggested that a DDC with I2S LVDS HDMI output is best suit your case:

Hi Wilson

I think you need a driver to handle HDMI input and I2S audio data. There is no driver for it, therefore it is impossible for now.
